A cute episode, and I don't mean that as a compliment. Maybe the network thinks the show's demographics require the occasional nod to prepubescent fantasy; the rest of us can only hang on grimly until it's over.

Production Notes
Bruce Timm: "The script came in and it was terrible. Normally, I tell the director to do what he can to make it interesting, and nobody could figure out a way to make it interesting. The storyboard artists didn't care, and it shows."
